Q: Can you tell us a little bit more about your wedding colours/theme?
For the morning segment, I opted for softer colours as I wanted a natural and romantic look for my photoshoot. As for the lunch reception, we went for a tropical theme with bright and happy colours.
Q: What was the inspiration behind them?
We both felt that the wedding should be a celebration infused with our own personalities, and filled with happy moments. That was why we decided on the tropical theme because it exudes fun and festive vibes.
Q: How did you decide on your wedding venue?
We held our wedding lunch at Pan Pacific Singapore. We chose it for its convenient location and I’ve heard rave reviews about their food – the reviews were right!
Q: We’re so honoured to have been a part of your special day! Why did you decide to buy LYLAS for your bride tribe?
I love that the LYLAS collection has different clothing designs of the same colour scheme, which allowed my bridesmaids to choose the style they were comfortable in and re-wear them on other occasions.
Q: Celebrating your big day means making tons of decisions. What was your favourite part of the planning experience?
As a wedding stylist myself, my favourite part has got to be the conceptualisation of the wedding theme and seeing my designs come to life. Shopping for wedding venues and wedding bands together with my then fiancé was also really fun!
Q: What did you not like about the planning experience & how did you work through it?
I was not looking forward to the table arrangements for the lunch banquet. However, as we started early and had very good support from our hotel, the entire process was manageable.
Q: You and your hubby are adorable! Who was the most nervous on the big day?
I think we were more excited than nervous. Thanks to our very reliable team (my dearest family, friends and vendors), we were able to enjoy the day without much worries. In fact, I was so happy, I was told multiple times throughout the day to not laugh so loudly and behave more demurely, like how a bride should be. But hey, it’s your day, so do it your way.
Q: If you could relive any moment during your wedding day, which would it be?
I love every aspect of our wedding day. Both Berwin and I were just so overwhelmed by the love and support from so many people. I just wish I had more time to spend with all my guests.
Q: Any final tips for other brides-to-be?
Plan a wedding that represents the both of you as a couple and focus on the things that matter. There will definitely be hiccups on that day but ultimately, it is more important to have fun, than for everything to go perfectly according to plan.
